Choice Hotels Australasia has six new properties joining the brand.
Trent Fraser, CHA's CEO, says the company is focused on investing in regional as well as metropolitan properties at a time when increased international competition and a high Australian dollar has seen leisure travellers choosing to holiday abroad.
The new properties are: In Victoria, 4½-star Quality Suites Deep Blue in Warrnambool; In Melbourne, the 60 room 3½-star Comfort Inn Lygon Lodge in the precinct of Carlton and the 4½-star Quality Hotel Taylors Lakes; In Regional New South Wales the 3½-star Econo Lodge Albury Paddlesteamer Motor Inn with 61 room serviced suites and an on-site restaurant; The 3½-star Comfort Inn Harvest Lodge in Gunnedah; and in Tasmania, the 3½-star Comfort Hotel Burnie.
