Funding boost to regional RTOs in Queensland

DestinationQQueensland's 13 regional tourism groups have seen funding doubled to $7 million premier Campbell Newman announced at the opening of the DestiantionQ forum in Cairns this week.

Mr Newman said the boost, the first in more than a decade, was the first step in the LNP's plan to double overnight visitor spending to $30 billion by 2020.
However, due to the state's dire financial position, Mr Newman said possible cuts to fund the increase in the government's September budget.
