Mantra, management rights owners of Q1, has gained a Federal Court ruling allowing it to trademark the Q1 name and stop any other business from using it.
Judge John Reeves ruled there was no reason to stop Mantra from trademarking Q1 for the use only of the hotel.
Danilo Spagnuolo, who operates Q1 Holidays Gold Coast, had been successful in an earlier decision that Mantra has now had overturned by the Federal Court.
