TV program produces the goods for accommodation

Coxys Big BreakVictoria's most trusted television travel program, Coxy's Big Break has come to the aid of the nation's tourism industry

, by generating almost $2.5 million worth of direct sales this year in the accommodation sector.

The program's executive producer, Wes Crook said, "Airline uncertainty and the rising Australian dollar have not exactly helped domestic tourism, so the fact that we produce a show which helps fill hotel beds is a bonus for tourism operators."

Figures released today show that almost 14,000 people had taken up offers through the Channel 7 program's popular Mates Rates segment.

According to Mr Crook, "We source the best deals for our viewers and everyone is a winner."

Now in its eighth year, Coxy's Big Break shows no sign of waning in the all important ratings.
