Eight years ago, June and Karl Teller decided they wanted to buy into management rights. Today, after much labourious searching, the Tellers have finally turned that dream into a reality with the purchase of their first property, On The Beach Resort Bribie Island.
June said, “For 30 years, we both worked as teachers at Shepparton High School in Victoria. Every time we went on holidays we chatted to the resident managers of the building we were staying in and they were all so enthusiastic that we thought ‘this could be us’. It looked like a great lifestyle and much easier than teaching! While we had been thinking about making the move for so long and had looked at property all up and down the Queensland coast, it wasn’t until our house in Victoria sold and Karl retired that we were able to make a decision.
However, when we did finally choose On The Beach Resort Bribie Island, it was a decision made purely on business because of it’s excellent potential for development, age and location. It just seemed to suit us in everyway. We liked the quiet location having come from a rural area previously, it was only 2½ years old and the timing was just perfect.”
After taking over the property in October last year, June said she and her husband found themselves on a steep learning curve for the first three months but have spent the remaining seven months since fine tuning bits and pieces such as the website and various policies.
June said, “One of the numerous pluses the property has is this amazing office, which is separate to the manager’s unit and is like a fishbowl. We can see the whole complex from it and it is just magical to work in. Our manager’s unit has a second story that we recently finished as it had been left incomplete at the building stage, so we also have this fantastic brand new unit to live in.”
Direct Beach Access
Located next to Bribie Island’s main Woorim surf beach and is the only property on the island with direct beach access. June said, “I used to walk further to the photocopier than I do now to the beach!”
The resort offers a total of 37 apartments, 29 of which are in the letting pool and are available in a range of styles and sleeping configurations, such as two-bedroom en suite apartments accommodating up to four people and two- and three-bedroom beachfront en suite villas accommodation between four and six people.
Each apartment is stylishly contemporary and features all the highest quality appointments including air-conditioning, broadband, CD/DVD players and free cable television. The rooms also offer spacious living areas that open up onto large balconies overlooking the ocean, fully equipped kitchen and laundry and secure undercover parking.
Within the complex, facilities include a Balinese themed landscaped garden, a 20m heated salt-chlorinated pool, barbeque area and change room and quaint cafes and quality restaurants and parks are a just a short stroll away.
Built in 2006 by developer Global Group, On The Beach Resort Bribie Island boasts eye catching, unique architectural design. June said, “Because of its unusual design, so many of our guests walk in and say they have never seen anything like it, it is very impressive.”
