Skycity Darwin is to get a $40 million upgrade with completion due by July 2012.
Among the changes to the resort include the addition of 32 new luxury rooms, two villas, a new bar and restaurant as well as a new day spa.
“The planned upgrades to the property’s existing infrastructure, in addition to the new resort development ensure Skycity Darwin will solidify its strong reputation for staging professional, Territory inspired events,” the group said. “Whether, it’s a confidential meeting, corporate gathering or gala ball for 5000, Skycity is the Northern Territory’s premier conference specialist.”
The property’s award winning restaurant Evoo, Dragon Court and Sunset Restaurant are also under renovations and expected to reopen early this year.
