The Rendezvous Grand Hotel in Melbourne has been purchased by Rendezvous Hotels Management, a subsidiary of The Straits Trading Company, for $60 million.
The century old Flinders St hotel was owned by Challenger Life Nominees No 2 (formerly known as Challenger Property Funds Management) and leased to Rendezvous Hotel (Australia).
Rendezvous Hospitality Group owns two hotels in Perth and the Rendezvous Grand Hotel Singapore as well as leasing 10 other hotels in Shanghai, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Port Douglas, Adelaide, Auckland and Christchurch.
Rendezvous Hospitality Group says it acquired the property as part of its continued expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.
