Renovations to Perth’s Duxton Hotel will include adding nine new storeys making it the highest hotel in the city.
This will deliver an additional 126 rooms, a 500-person 23rd floor giant glass ballroom with spectacular views, function rooms, day spa and rooftop bar. A new main entrance will be built with a fountain and landscaping and a business centre will be incorporated into the 14th floor.
The five-star hotel, which was built in 1961, plans a $100 million upgrade after approval by a state planning panel.
General manager Bruce Doig said the development approval had been received by Duxton International’s Singaporean owners and there would be an internal approvals process before a decision on when the upgrade might begin.
