Hotel part of Essenden master plan

The Victorian government will launch a $2 billion, 30-year blueprint on Wednesday [26 March] to expand Melbourne’s Essendon Airport.

Proposed in the developments is a $30 million, 150-room hotel and conference centre. Also envisaged is a passenger terminal upgrade and more hangars.

The precinct 12km from the city, currently has 630 businesses and will eventually provide 25,000 jobs in aviation, research and development, retail, and other services
