RNA Showgrounds hotel to be Rydges

The Rydges group will operate the 208-room hotel to be built as part of the RNA Showgrounds upgrade in Brisbane.

Construction is scheduled to start later this year on the four-star hotel to be built on the corner of King St and Gregory Tce opposite the new $59 million Royal International Convention Centre. The hotel is scheduled to be completed early in 2015.

A consortium, Denwol Baron that has been working with the RNA and spokesperson Stewart Baron said the hotel would comprise a mix of rooms and suites and include a restaurant on the King Street promenade.

Last week, the Brisbane City Council approved Frasers Hospitality’s plans for the conversion of an CBD office building into 239-room a five-star hotel.
