Apartments, conference facilities for Goulburn
Goulburn is to get a conference centre and serviced apartments worth $10 million by developer Nick Daoud on the site of the former Marian College while Macarthur Grange Brewery plans a $15 million manufacturing and tourism facility at the former Coles warehouse.
Goulburn mayor Geoff Kettle said the new developments were due to Goulburn building a pipeline to access Sydney’s water storage. ”We have plenty of room for expansion,” he said. ”Developers, businesses and government are now aware that we can cope with this sort of expansion.”
Mr Daoud, who is developing a $100 million apartment complex in Wollongong, said he had engaged a heritage consultant to retain significant buildings within the former Marian site, and would not exceed existing building heights. His family would manage the conference, accommodation and restaurant development.
