Oaks starts up in Mackay
Oaks Hotels & Resorts, a division of Minor Hotel Group, is set to open its first property in Mackay, Queensland, announcing plans to unveil the 138-room Oaks Rivermarque Mackay in July 2014.
A milestone 21st property to open in Queensland under the renowned Oaks Hotels & Resorts brand, Oaks Rivermarque Mackay will be a welcomed addition to Mackay’s typically older accommodation offering, which is rapidly emerging as one of Australia’s most prosperous regional cities.
The opening of Oaks Rivermarque Mackay will see Oaks Hotels & Resorts’ total property portfolio jump to 48, heralding the continuation of an impressive start to 2014, with four new property openings and announcements already occurring since January, including Oaks Grand Gladstone, Oaks Mews in Brisbane, Oaks Pinnacle in Melbourne’s South Yarra and now Oaks Rivermarque Mackay – the company’s first foray into the historical sugar region.
Located on central River Street and fronting the iconic Pioneer River, the 4.5 star property will span eight levels and offer both business and leisure travellers the choice of 138 contemporary hotel rooms, studios and self-contained one and two bedroom apartments – some with dual key facilities, perfect for groups and families.
Each apartment will boast deluxe appointments and finishes as well as modern kitchens, full laundry facilities, spacious lounge and dining areas, Foxtel and private balconies complete with panoramic city and river views.
Oaks Rivermarque Mackay’s leisure facilities will include a sizeable indoor swimming pool, spa and well-equipped gymnasium, while an onsite restaurant and café are also scheduled to open in late 2014. Complimentary car parking will also be available for hotel guests.
