Benowa complex approved

Vantage Royal Pines development at Benowa was approved by the Gold Coast City Council’s planning committee last week.

However construction could be delayed by restrictions on the development’s size until an upgrade of the roundabout intersection of Ashmore Rd and Ross St can be undertaken.

The $150 million Rayjon Vantage Royal Pines development will have six buildings, including a 15-storey tower, and offer 357 apartments.

Councillor Chris Robbins said the scale of the project would overwhelm the busy state-owned Ross St.

Rayjon wants to begin the development later this year on a 2.4ha parcel of land between Ross St and Ashmore Rd.
