Gladstone motel to be city’s biggest

Gladstone Regional Council approved plans for developer Martin Gleeson’s 198-room motel opposite the CBD’s old post office. The two towers will have a restaurant, 143 car spaces, coach bay and a public forecourt.

The new motel will be the largest in Gladstone when it opens in January 2016.

Mr Gleeson said, “Gladstone’s projected population over the next 15 years is going to double,” he said. “Plus, there’s more industry to come.”

He said he was working on building approvals and is ready to demolish the two buildings currently on site.
