Melbourne Sheraton gets go-ahead
The Four Points by Sheraton Melbourne Docklands has been given planning approval from the Victorian government.
Singaporean group Hiap Hoe is to build the $500 million-plus hotel and apartment development in Melbourne’s Docklands.
Four Points by Sheraton Melbourne Docklands will have 320 suites and there would also be 460 apartments in two towers. The 37-storey building will also include 360 apartments, a 200-seat restaurant, pool, gym, con-ference centre and 255 car spaces.
Construction is expected to begin early next year.
Designer dKO Architecture director, Koos de Keijzer, said the two residential towers would have a 5° tilt in them – one would lean towards the water while the other would tilt away from it.
Hiap Hoe also has a site on Melbourne’s Lonsdale Street with potential to build a 350-room hotel and 658 apartments.
