82-room hotel for Wagga rules park
Rules Club Wagga is launching a development application for a $13.6 million hotel and expansion, according to general manager Jack Jolley.
Showing faith in Wagga’s tourism market, the proposed 82-room hotel will be built on the Glenfield Park site. A new conference and function facility is part of the plan, allowing the club to tap into the lucrative wedding industry and business conferences.
Mr Jolley said, if successful, the hotel, designed by Axian Group architects, would be open by December 2015, coinciding with the expansion of the hospital, ensuring relatives of patients had close-by accommodation.
Mr Jolley said the club is currently in talks with a major international hotel management group, who would run the hotel.
