Ritz-Carlton for Melbourne’s tallest

Melbourne CBD’s tallest tower has received planning approval. Far East Consortium’s 250 Spencer Street in the West End has been given approval for four towers of between 205m and 300m in height, although the ultimate design for each has yet to be submitted.

Architecture firm Cottee Parker has allowed for 2853 apartments and two hotels of some 488 rooms over the four towers on the 11759m² site, formerly home to The Age newspaper. The towers will be of 90, 79, 73, 67 storeys, the tallest usurping Eureka Tower to become Melbourne’s tallest building.

Far East Consortium has secured Ritz-Carlton to anchor the premium hotel space, located within the top 15 levels of the tallest, 300m tower.
