B&B, lakeside resort and city Queenslander up for sale

A range of properties is presently on the market from a 90-room city hotel to a convent cum B&B.

The range includes The Hume Resort near Albury-Wodonga that is expected to fetch up to $2.5 million.

The resort has been owned by the Ray Appleton family for nearly two decades and will be the subject of an expressions of interest sale process. Agents Colliers International has been appointed to sell the 12,033m² waterfront property that comprises a 3½-star, 26-room motel and function centre. Other facilities include swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts and mini golf. There is also a three-bedroom manager’s residence, and 18 additional three-bedroom cottages and two villas operated under lease agreements.

Expressions of interest for the resort close on October 16.

Meanwhile receivers Glenn Miller and John Goggin of BRI Ferrier have listed The Hotel Cairns for sale through CBRE. The 92-room, four-star property is less than 200m from the Cairns Esplanade.

The hotel’s architectural profile and exterior facade is one of the most beautiful examples of Queenslander heritage style has undergone a complete remodeling and refurbishment.

The two-storey former Mount Carmel Convent in the Brisbane bayside suburb of Wynnum, the two-level former Mount Carmel Convent at was built in 1915 and designed by the architectural partnership of Hall and Dods and has undergone extensive refurbishment over the past two years.

Knight Frank’s Adam Willmore, who is marketing the property with Richard Morrison, said it was currently approved for a house and home business.

It was purchased by Ivan Simon, managing director of production company IJS Logistics who had new kitchens, bathrooms and floor coverings installed while retaining the original features of the pressed metal ceiling, stained glass and leadlight windows.

It is understood the vendor is seeking a sale in excess of $3 million.

Expressions of interest campaign closes on October 9.

Meanwhile, the Il Mondo boutique hotel at Brisbane’s Kangaroo Point has been sold to a Chinese syndicate by GBW Investments for $13.5 million. The agents were Paul Fraser and Peter Harper of JLL.
