Felicity plans second Brisbane hotel

AMP Capital Select Property Portfolio No3 (SPP3) and private developer Billbergia have sold part of the site of the failed Vision project in Brisbane to Sam Chong, owner of Felicity Hotel Group.

It is understood Felicity acquired the site for about $50 million.

Austcorp had planned a twin tower mixed-use project but could not secure financing

Mr Chong opened Four Points by Sheraton in Brisbane last year.

Felicity spokesperson Ian Pert of GMP Management, said his client was excited about the opportunity to develop a new five-star hotel in Brisbane. AMP and Billbergia had submitted a development application to Brisbane City Council in July for a 90-storey, 1000 apartment tower plus a five-star hotel. The apartment tower will be developed by AMP and Billbergia.
