Brisbane’s Spire set to inspire

Consolidated Properties has made a development application to build a 39-storey residential tower in Brisbane’s Queen St.

The $200 million, 340-apartment project called Spire, that Consolidated Properties executive chairman Don O’Rorke said the John Wardle Architects design will create a “visually exciting and innovative statement”.

“The building’s name, Spire, has taken its inspiration from its proximity to St John’s Cathedral on Ann St and its design is respectful of the existing heritage values of its location,” he said.

John Wardle Architects principal Bill Krotiris said Spire was designed to make an appropriate statement for the gateway location. “The tower’s curved form gives it a sleekness befitting such an outstanding location,” he said.

The tower will offer one and two-bedroom apartments, a rooftop infinity pool and sky garden, library, theatre room, private dining rooms, along with street-level cafes and retail shops
