The Sofitel Hotel at Broadbeach has been sold to a Chinese company for $83 million.
It is understood the new owners plan to redevelop the 296-room, 27-year-old Sofitel. The sale was made directly between Canadian company Brookfield and the unnamed Chinese buyer without using intermediaries. The hotel offers two restaurants, extensive conference facilities, underground car parking, beach access, jacuzzi, two pools, gym, gaming lounge and bar, and tennis court.
