Hilton takes over Citigate Melboune

DoubleTree by Hilton will open its newest property in Melbourne, joining the Hilton Worldwide’s portfolio of 22 hotels in Australasia.

Owned by M&L Hospitality and currently trading as Citigate Melbourne, the land, which is currently under renovations, will be managed by Hilton Worldwide.

“We are excited to announce yet another DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Australia, extending our presence in one of our most important growth markets, and every aspect of this hotel is being thoughtfully renovated to ensure our guests enjoy a world-class experience throughout their stay,” DoubleTree by Hilton global head John Greenleaf said.
M&L Hospitality’s chief executive officer Neil Maxwell, said the growth is in par with its Asian and Pacific vision.

“The agreement builds on our strong existing partnerships with Hilton at properties in Japan and New Zealand, and DoubleTree by Hilton is an exciting and contemporary hotel brand of which we are proud to be bringing the first property to Victoria, as part of our Australian portfolio of four hotels,” Mr Maxwell said.

Being part of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio, guests at DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne – Flinders Street will have the opportunity to earn and redeem points for stays through the loyalty program.
