Landmark Bondi hotel has new owner

The historic 1919 Hotel Bondi has been sold by the estate of the late Cyril Maloney who had owned the hotel for more than 40 years. When listed in July the hotel was expected to sell for $40 million to $45 million.

The four level foreshore complex has 37 en suite hotel rooms, a ground floor bar, bistro and gaming room.

John Musca of JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group said the Hotel Bondi is being sold as vacant possession and successful bid for the property came from a private local hotel group, believed to be that run by Kim Maloney who operates eight Sydney hotels.
