Mantra to bring Peppers to Brisbane

Queensland’s largest hotel owner Mantra is to build an exclusive Peppers resort in the Brisbane as soon as it finds a suitable location.

Mantra Group CEO Bob East said the time was right to “introduce the Peppers brand to Brisbane”

The Mantra announcement joins a flood of luxury projects in Brisbane including Four Points by Sheraton, Alpha Mosaic, Trap, Gambaro’s Hotel, Next, an ibis hotel in Elizabeth Street and a 300-room W Hotel.

On top of this, international luxury hotel chain Ritz-Carlton is in negotiations to join Echo Entertainment’s casino consortium to redevelop Brisbane’s Queen’s Wharf.

The addition of a flagship luxury hotel as part of the multibillion-dollar integrated casino resort project would see Brisbane become part of Ritz-Carlton’s rapid Australian expansion plans, adding to a chain of luxury hotels across Europe, North America and Asia.

Echo Entertainment, which currently holds casino licenses for the Treasury casino and Jupiters on the Gold Coast, has formed a consortium with Chinese partners Chow Tai Fook and Far East.
