Ballarat Lodge now in local hands
Bentley Property Group owner, Justin Bentley and Ballarat hotel operator, Iain Gunn have announced that they have purchased the four star Ballarat Lodge from Austpac Hotels and Resorts. The property will change hands at the beginning of February 2015.
Bentley Property Group has acquired the freehold of the 3.18ha retreat that includes the hotel, conference centre, restaurant and bar, pool and day spa facilities.
“The group has a long term commitment to the Ballarat Lodge with plans to further develop the property to ensure the facility remains one of regional Victoria’s leading hotel and convention centres”, Mr Bentley said.
The 71 room hotel will be managed under a lease by Iain Gunn whose current interests include four star hotels located in the Victorian provincial centres of Mildura, Horsham and Sale. Mr Gunn is currently appraising branding submissions for Ballarat Lodge to support its positioning in the local community and wider marketplace.
“This is a very exciting acquisition for us to be operating an iconic Ballarat property and we look forward to engaging with the people of Ballarat, its vibrant business sector and public services”, Mr Gunn said. “Ballarat Lodge will complement our existing group of regional hotels, conference facilities and function centres that we manage”, he added.
