Long Island is definitely open for business

While BreakFree on Long Island in the Whitsundays has closed for refurbishment, Helen Scott, the manager of Palm Bay Resort on Long Island is reassuring people that they are definitely open for business.

Palm Bay Resort only 1.3km away is the quintessential island retreat in the Whitsundays. Exclusive, private and unique with beautiful gardens, Palm Bay is set in the rainforest with most of the rooms facing the calm lagoon and overlooking the Coral Sea.

Travellers looking for a unique island experience will love the tranquil and natural setting that the resort offers as one of the few island resorts in the archipelago that is the Whitsundays. Offering a unique self-catering model where guests can bring their own food, the resort itself has gorgeous Balinese style rooms and a stunning pool and main lodge where guests can prepare meals in a well equipped kitchen facing the pool.

With 23 rooms, including two suites and two houses that offer accommodation for families or couples travelling together the resort is also available for private groups including weddings and special occasion celebrations. Health and yoga groups also find the resort ideal for retreats.

Located on the narrowest neck of Long Island the rear of the resort faces the Whitsunday Passage and offers stunning views towards Hamilton Island.

With most of the prevailing winds coming from the south east this side of the resort is great to cool off and catch the breezes and hopefully spot a turtle or dolphin.
