Consortium plans 6-tower Fishermans Bend complex

A development application for six new towers in Melbourne’s Fishermans Bend would have 1580 apartments constructed in a $600 million integrated residential project south of the West Gate Freeway.

Six local landowners have amalgamated into a syndicate to build what could be Fishermans Bend’s biggest development to date. The towers, designed by Hayball architects, would all stand at 40 storeys high.

A200m² park, two public squares, two major laneways, a vertical playground and green are planned for the 1.3ha site.

Hayball managing director Tom Jordan said with co-operation between the landowners, they were able to allow more space between towers – a minimum 14m up to more than 20m.

Mr Jordan said the application was submitted to planning minister Richard Wynne late last month on behalf of property lawyers, Planning and Property Partners.
