Cherish the lazy days at 19th Avenue on the Beach

These Gold Coast apartments are incomparable. No other holiday accommodation is quite like 19th Avenue on the Beach.

Located on the sandy and spectacular Palm Beach, Chris and Wendy Ward are the resort managers of 19th Avenue on the Beach, the 16-storey property offering one, two and three-bedroom holiday accommodation for guests wanting to experience a very special beachside getaway. Here, the roar of the ocean constantly beckons, relaxes and refreshes its guests.

Chris told us: “Our guests cherish warm memories of lazy days in the sun. They soak up the magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean, take a swim in the 22m heated pool under a glass atrium, play a round of tennis with the gentle sea breeze to keep them cool or have a work out in the gym. It is our aim that guests relax from the moment they arrive at 19th Avenue on the Beach apartments and have the holiday of a lifetime.”

The newly refurbished unique, fully enclosed pool atrium is an extraordinary attraction for guests as it offers safe, all-year-round swimming in an enclosed pool with a spa, sauna and steam room. This makes 19th Avenue on the Beach a remarkable all-year destination.

Chris and Wendy have been managing this magnificent resort for eight years now, and it is the second management rights property that they have owned. Chris said: “We have experienced many changes in the industry over the years. Prior to joining the management rights industry, we owned a motel, a hotel, several fast food franchises in Western NSW with over 100 staff and a seafood outlet, so we immediately offered a strong business background.

“We decided to make a sea change and purchased our first management rights in Surfers Paradise where for three years we learned the ropes, then decided to purchase 19th Avenue on the Beach. We wanted a resort in a quieter part of the Gold Coast that focused on a more family-oriented atmosphere and 19th Avenue on the Beach was the perfect fit in a perfect location that invited many loyal guests and families to return year-after-year.”

From taking over the management rights here in January 2009, the couple have brought about many improvements to the property. “Our biggest achievement here at 19th Avenue on the Beach is overseeing the lift refurbishment, the repainting of the entire externals of the building and refurbishment of the stunning pool atrium and facilities,” Chris revealed.

“We have also overseen improvements within various apartments, all successfully completed because we worked so well with the owners.” But Chris warned: “Our biggest learning curve was realising that things rarely go to plan or meet your expected deadline. You must always allow for delays in any project, especially due to Queensland’s occasionally unpredictable weather!”

Guests at 19th Avenue on the Beach have responded well to renovations and according to Chris, guests notice a “warm, friendly and personal service” above all else. “Our advice to anyone wanting to purchase management rights is to work hard on your people skills. Guests will return to your resort if they have a wonderful experience and they will also spread the word.

“In particular, our guests speak very highly of the service provided by our superb staff at 19th Avenue on the Beach. They have all been with us for many years and provide wonderful service, many of our guests have also become delightful friends over the years.”

Wendy added: “We enjoy seeing guests have a great time, leave smiling and tell us they will return. Guest experience is a priority for us and when they leave happy and relaxed, it makes all our hard work worthwhile.”
