Accor awarded ‘Employer of Choice’ accolade by industry experts

Award reinforces company’s commitment to attracting, retaining and developing talent

Recognition of what CEO, Sarah Derry says is its achievements in creating an extraordinary workplace, ACCOR, has won the prestigious Wagestream ‘Employer of Choice’ Award (>1,000 team members) at the 2022 Australian HR Awards.

The award takes into account the work of organisations who create a fulfilling and healthy workplace, criteria for which includes they must be an employer that provides outstanding initiatives such as career paths, suitable learning and development opportunities, and appropriately acknowledging a job well done.

Ms Derry, said was a great honour to receive the award that recognises the company’s achievements in creating an extraordinary workplace.

“This award reinforces that we have a committed and caring team, who are passionate about supporting and developing people, and creating career pathways,” she said.

 “We have many initiatives in our business that create incredible opportunities for career advancement and we recognise that greater flexibility in the workplace creates a fulfilling and inclusive team member experience.

 “Our teams bring diversity, experiences and stories to our culture, which makes Accor a community for all to excel. Our people are integral to our success and growth and I could not be prouder of them.”

Accor have implemented a number of initiatives to attract, retain and develop talent, while increasing flexibility and benefits for teams.

Example initiatives include Accor’s revolutionary Work Your Way at Accor initiative, which offers increased flexibility and benefits, along with same day hire where a candidate can be interviewed, hired and start working all on the very same day.

Accor has also personalised benefits with a selection of additional perks including travel allowances, birthday leave and sabbaticals.

 The company has formed new partnerships with organisations like Year13, who provide high school leavers with employment opportunities, and have strengthened existing partnerships across hotel schools and local educational institutions.

An ALL Heartist Internship program has been developed to provide 100 interns an opportunity to experience hospitality and grow within the industry, building a pipeline of future talent.
