A case study on Viking by Crown Group’s vision of Smart Living with BTicino.

Home automation has extended far beyond a luxury – it is now a part of everyday living. A major factor when planning apartment building projects is the comfort of residents and technology is playing a pivotal role in their safety and wellbeing.

It is now common for large-scale buildings, such as hotels, apartments and offices to have automated solutions. The trend of connected Smart Living will continue to grow, opening a new era in the digital and electrical building fields. As a contractor, it is vital to keep your finger on the pulse in this exciting tech-savvy landscape.

A development project, which is leading this change, is Viking by Crown Group, located in the heart of Sydney. In 2015, Viking by Crown was named the joint winner in ‘Home Units $500,000-$700,000’ category at the 2015 Master Builders Australia (MBA) NSW Excellence in Housing Awards.

This development project is part of Crown Group Holdings; an Australian property management enterprise that specialises in property investment and serviced apartments.

Legrand partnered with, electrical contractor, G&S Maroun, to develop a well-suited automation solution for this residential project.

Keeping aligned with Viking by Crown Group’s unique building structure and sophisticated design, G&S Maroun selected BTicino’s 2-Wire Intercom and Automation systems.

The systems are designed for room temperature maintenance, door entry control (either locally or via smartphone), and also to oversee the centralised supervision of the whole apartment block.

BTicino’s 10” Touchscreen video handset was also selected, so residents can manage their door entry, monitor their energy usage and all other home automation functions.

Legrand’s Arteor coverplates added that final touch perfectly, adding a new level of sophistication, with their genuine materials and impeccable aesthetics.

As a global leader in providing cutting-edge electrical solutions for residential and commercial projects, Legrand is delighted to have provided this service to one of Australia’s most prestigious industry bodies.

If you want to keep up with the trends of connectivity, smart homes and streamlined living, choose Legrand for your next project. www.legrand.com.au
