Australian Business Events Awards 2025 now open: honouring the best in Australian business events

New award categories have been launched to reflect the industry

The Australian Business Events Association (ABEA) has officially opened entries for the 2025 Australian Business Events Awards, which recognise and celebrate the people, companies, teams and innovations shaping Australia’s business events sector.

Returning for its second year, the Awards will take place on Thursday 4 December 2025 at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre as part of the 2025 ABEA Conference.

The Australian Business Events Awards honour the impact and excellence in the business events industry, through shining a light on the people and initiatives driving progress across the sector.

With 26 awards up for grabs, new categories include Event Manager of the Year, Operations Person of the Year, and Sales, Marketing or Business Development Person of the Year.

Two dedicated Venue Awards have also been added, recognising excellence in both Convention Centres and Other Business Event Venues. The “Best Team” category has been expanded with subcategories now covering Best Non-Hire Service or Suppliers Team, Best Organisers or PCO Team, Best Bureau Destination Marketing Team and Best Hire Companies Team.

Melissa Brown, CEO, ABEA, said the ABEA Awards are our moment to spotlight what makes the business events industry such a powerful national asset.

“These Awards are designed to elevate excellence, inspire progress and celebrate the people shaping the future of business eventsm” Brown said.

“Beyond recognition, the Awards offer finalists and winners national exposure, increased credibility among stakeholders, and access to a high-impact evening of networking with leaders and decision-makers from across the sector.”

The 2025 Australian Business Events Awards recognise events, activities, products, services, and initiatives delivered between 1 October 2024 and 30 September 2025. Entries are open now and close at 5:00 pm (AEST) on Tuesday 14 October 2025. Winners will be announced at the Awards evening on Thursday 4 December 2025 at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The 2025 Awards are presented in partnership with the principal sponsor Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and Awards portal partner EventsAir.
