Travel + Leisure Co. expands with historic Daylesford purchase

Originally built in 1903 and reopened in late 2020 after a multi-million-dollar refurbishment, Hotel Bellinzona blends heritage charm with contemporary indulgence.

Travel + Leisure Co., one of the world’s largest leisure travel companies, has added another jewel to its Australian portfolio with the purchase of the historic Hotel Bellinzona in Hepburn Springs, Victoria’s renowned spa and wellness capital.

The 122-year-old property will join Club Wyndham South Pacific, the region’s largest vacation club, giving members new access to one of Australia’s most sought-after wellness destinations.

Its elegant interiors, attentive service and acclaimed dining make it a favourite for travellers seeking to recharge in the Daylesford and Hepburn Springs region.

Guests at the 43-suite hotel can expect king-sized beds, bespoke artwork, modern furnishings and ensuite bathrooms with walk-in showers. The six executive suites (the largest in the hotel) also feature baths. All visitors enjoy complimentary access to a heated indoor pool, spa and sauna.

The on-site Virgin Kitchen seats 160 and is known for showcasing local produce with global flair. The 40-seat Lobby Bar features a cigar lounge-inspired design, complete with wingback chairs and vintage lighting. Six conference rooms and two private dining spaces can host up to 650 guests, making the property one of the region’s premier event and wedding venues.

Following the purchase, the hotel will be renamed Club Wyndham Bellinzona Hepburn Springs, Daylesford and become the 68th resort in the Club Wyndham South Pacific network.

Daylesford and the neighbouring Macedon Ranges welcome about 2.4 million visitors each year. Alongside its famous mineral springs and wellness retreats, the region offers acclaimed restaurants, boutique wineries and distilleries, unique shopping and notable events such as ChillOut and the Daylesford Highland Gathering. Its bluestone cottages and European-style streetscapes reflect a rich gold-rush history.

The destination has gained extra attention in 2025 as the filming location for Channel Nine’s latest season of The Block and recently earned silver in the Small Tourism Town category at the 2024 Australian Top Tourism Awards.
