Its transition to Best Western Plus brings an enhanced guest experience, underpinned by upgraded brand standards, global booking access, and a strengthened commercial platform.
This milestone marks the commencement of a partnership with Central Apartment Group. Central Apartment Group operates 25 apartment hotels in key locations across Australia and has additional new-build properties currently under development.

Best Western Plus Canberra Central Apartments is the first of their properties transitioning to BWH, with select hotels across other destinations looking to follow.
Under the agreement, CAG Hotels’ diverse apartment portfolio will be rebranded across the Best Western Plus, Best Western, and SureStay brands, benefitting from BWH’s global distribution platform, revenue management expertise, and one of the world’s most recognised hotel loyalty programs.

The partnership brings together CAG’s established apartment hotel footprint and BWH’s global scale, creating a compelling presence in the extended stay segment, one of the fastest growing sectors in the market, driven by increased corporate travel and longer stay demand.
Sid Knell, CEO of Prime Group Australasia, which owns CAG Hotels, said the launch marks an important first step in the partnership:
“We chose BWH because of the dedicated service they offer to franchisees and owners, from design through to operations, as well as their strong global distribution and loyalty platform.
“The launch of Best Western Plus Canberra Central Apartments is an exciting milestone, and we look forward to bringing more of our properties into the network over the coming months.”

Rod Munro, Managing Director, BWH Hotels Australasia, said the opening reflects both the strength of the partnership and the commercial opportunity ahead:
“The addition of Best Western Plus Canberra Central Apartments is a proud moment for our team and sets the tone for what’s ahead.
“It’s the first of many high quality apartment hotels that will strengthen our presence in key markets and broaden our offering for today’s travellers.
“Equally important is the immediate access these properties gain to our global systems and loyalty base, which is a powerful driver of demand.
“As more properties come online, this partnership will play a key role in accelerating our growth and delivering strong outcomes for our hotel partners and guests alike.”
The agreement will see BWH expand into new destinations while strengthening its presence in existing markets, underscoring the group’s ongoing and strategic growth across the region.
