Hotel Council Aotearoa appoints Alistair Crozier as Chief Executive
The newly created role will see Mr Crozier head the Hotel Council Aotearoa, the industry body which represents around 250 hotels
Hotel Council Aotearoa (HCA) has announced the appointment of Alistair Crozier as Chief Executive, commencing 28 September 2026.
Alistair Crozier brings more than 25 years of leadership, advocacy, diplomacy and stakeholder engagement experience across government, international relations, local government and membership-based organisations.

Most recently, Mr Crozier has served as Executive Director of the New Zealand China Council, where he has led strategy, member engagement, advocacy, communications, governance reporting, sponsorship and financial management for one of New Zealand’s most prominent membership organisations operating at the intersection of business and government.
Prior to that, he held senior diplomatic appointments including New Zealand Consul-General to Southwest China, Deputy Ambassador to Viet Nam and Deputy High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, alongside leadership roles with the Asia New Zealand Foundation and Christchurch City Council.

HCA Chair Lani Hagaman said the Board was delighted to secure a leader of Crozier’s calibre to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and influence.

HCA Strategic Director James Doolan said Mr Crozier’s appointment was an important milestone in the organisation’s evolution.
