After its workforce was ravaged by extended lockdowns in 2021, the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley has embarked on a recruitment drive with a focus on offering locals the opportunity to create a career in hospitality.
This week saw the IHG hotel stage an open day, offering job seekers and career changers a unique opportunity to undertake a series of activities to assess their suitability for the hospitality industry.
Crowne Plaza Area General Manager, Gareth Long said the hotel has many and varied roles available for great talent to join his team, ranging from housekeeping to greenkeeping, maintenance crew, chef to concierge, food & beverage attendants and even reservations and day spa staff.
“There really is something for every kind of job seeker in this unique event,” he said.

Mr Long said he was personally looking to have his eye out for some real stars that can grow with the business at this week’s open day.
