TED event underlines role new technologies will play
Calls for hoteliers to develop long-term strategies
Offering key insights into the ever-growing importance of new technologies and how they will play a key role for hoteliers now and into the future, and the need for hoteliers to develop long-term strategies to rehabilitate themselves in a post-COVID environment, the Ted’s Technology Summit took in place in Sydney on Thurs March 17.
Attracting one of the biggest gatherings of senior industry personnel to take place this year, both in actual attendance and online, international keynote speakers included Accor’s chief technology officer, Floor Bleeker, the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s (AHLA) president and CEO, Chip Rogers, and Microsoft’s global director: travel, transport and hospitality, Shane O’Flaherty.

A key component of the overall event was a ‘The Role of Technology for a Hotel Owner’ themed discussion, moderated by E.Horner & Associates founder, Ted Horner.

The discussion featured panellists Accor Pacific CEO, Sarah Derry, Schwartz Family Trust’s Dr Jerry Schwartz, and CHA, Direct hotels, Salter Bros. Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), Steven Skarott.
