Perisher Opening Looking Great

Low temperatures, snowfalls and more on the way this week is set to make opening weekend at Australia’s favourite winter playground, Perisher, a great one when the resort officially opens this Friday!

Over 5cms of fresh snow has fallen over the last 24 hours with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting snow down to around 650m later in the week. Meanwhile over 100 snowguns continue to blaze away across Perisher in anticipation of the keen skiers and snowboarders expected to hit the slopes this weekend!

Perisher enjoyed an early opening three weeks ago after heavy snowfall and consistent snowmaking, with over 1400 people taking advantage of the opportunity during the two days the resort opened early.

“This weekend we’re expecting a another good turn-out of visitors to celebrate the official opening of the season and the team here at Perisher can’t wait to get going again this year,” said CEO at Perisher, Peter Brulisauer. “The early opening three weeks ago was a huge success and thanks to the snowfalls over the last two days and more expected this week, we’re ready to welcome in the start of the season!

“We’ll also have a real festival atmosphere around the resort with the Snowy Mountains of Music, that will see 130 acts play across ten venues”, continued Mr Brulisauer.

Visitors to Perisher this season will be the first to use the sophisticated new MyRide lift ticketing system, which will improve the process of purchasing passes and lift access, plus it comes with a host of other great features.

Soon to launch will be the Perisher Dashboard, in conjunction with the MyRide technology, which will allow skiers and snowboarders to log on to www.perisher.com/myride and track how much terrain they’ve covered, the lifts they’ve ridden and compare these with friends and family.
