A Real Darling in Sydney
At $15,000 a night, guests will have their own gambling room, a 24-hour butler and sweeping views of the harbour and city skyline. Four huge penthouse suites will occupy part of the top floor of Sydney’s newest five-star hotel, The Darling.
The 12-storey hotel is a key part of the refurbishment and extension to the Star City casino complex at Pyrmont. Due to open in mid-October, it will have 171 rooms, including the penthouses and 57 suites. All suites have views across Darling Harbour towards the Harbour Bridge. Designers created hand-made drinking glasses and fabric wall hangings and flew to Italy, China and South America to source stone and marble.
”The penthouse suites are designed to attract the high-end customers, the big gamblers,” said the hotel’s general manager, Drew Schlesinger.
