Virgin Australia customers can now search and book more than 71,000 hotel properties across the globe with the selection of Orbitz Worldwide’s HotelClub as the provider of standalone hotel content for the airline group’s websites.
“The Orbitz Worldwide and HotelClub partnership gives our corporate and leisure customers the ability to search and book thousands of hotels on our website as they book their flights, including more than 4200 hotel properties in Australia and New Zealand alone,” Virgin Australia’s group executive commercial Liz Savage said.
“We chose HotelClub for its flexibility, ease of use and for the competitive prices it offers.”
“Virgin Australia is committed to providing our customers with quality services and great value and we believe that HotelClub will help us achieve that. Initial customer response to the new range of properties available has been extremely positive,” Ms Savage said.
HotelClub will offer hotel accommodation through the Virgin Australia, V Australia and Pacific Blue websites. Ms Savage said the deal does not impact Blue Holidays, which remains the group’s holiday package. Virgin Australia plans to operate V Australia and Pacific Blue Airlines as Virgin Australia, a relaunch that is slated to be completed before the end of 2011.
Orbitz Worldwide Distribution president, Ronnie Gurion, said Virgin Australia has quickly become one of the most recognisable airlines in Australia and across Asia Pacific. “We believe our solution is unique in its ability to combine a flexible technology platform with extensive supplier inventory delivered by a great consumer brand like HotelClub.”
