Adelaide Hotel Expansion Approved
The expansion of the Grand Medina Treasury Hotel in Adelaide has been approved despite warnings would overshadow the adjacent Pilgrim Uniting Church.
The 100m, 27-storey building, set to become the fourth-tallest building in Adelaide, will cost $80 million to construct and provide top-end hotel facilities and office space.
The development was approved by the state Development Assessment Commission last week but requires demolition of an existing two-storey annex at the church’s rear and construction of an elevated gallery link between a new annex and the proposed tower.
Developer Toga Group of Companies, which operates the Grand Medina hotel chain, has not said when the development would start.
