Tiger Back to Gold Coast

The first flight to the Gold Coast since domestic services resumed earlier this month will wing its way from Melbourne at 4:40pm and touch down at Gold Coast Airport at around 6:40pm on 31 August.

The Gold Coast is the third destination that the airline is returning to this month from its home base in Melbourne, following the first flights between Melbourne and Sydney which commenced 12 August and between Melbourne and Brisbane which commenced 18 August 2011.

Vanessa Regan, Tiger Airways’ head of marketing and communications, says the Gold Coast has historically been a very popular destination for Tiger Airways customers and that the timing to return to the Gold Coast is good for many families as it will coincide with the start of the spring school holidays.

Tiger Airways has indicated its ongoing commitment to reinstating popular core routes gradually based on customer demand as well as maintaining its focus on delivering enhanced reliability. Since returning to the air (on 12 August 2011) the airline has achieved solid on-time performance exceeding 90% for all arrivals and departures and the airline is very pleased with strong forward bookings and demand for flights.

Tiger Airways has fares on sale now between Melbourne and Gold Coast from just $59.95,* between Melbourne and Sydney from just $49.95* and between Melbourne and Brisbane from just $69.95*.

The airline is earmarking the reinstatement of services to a number of other popular destinations around Australia as part of the next phase of Tiger Airways Australia’s development. Further network announcements will be made in due course.

With demand increasing, the airline urges its customers to plan ahead and book early to grab the most affordable fares. Tiger Airways is committed to providing Australia with safe, affordable and reliable air travel.
