Barossa Winery Converted into Hostel
A new hostel in the Barossa Valley has opened in a renovated winery, located behind one of Australia’s oldest wineries, Chateau Tanunda, in South Australia.
Barossa Backpackers is a 75-bed hostel also has a job centre, helping backpackers and farmers with work placement.
Owner Derry Geber said, “There has been quite a lot of regulations in order to transform the building up to accommodation standards but local labourers, the Barossa Council and community support has been fantastic. Barossa Backpackers is a purposely renovated building designed by backpackers for backpackers.”
The official grand opening is on 23 September.
