Jetstar Changes NZ Services… Queenstown Focus

From 8 November this year, Jetstar said it will cancel its Gold Coast – Queenstown services, replacing them with new twice weekly Queenstown – Sydney flights which will pick up from 22 December 2011.

Other adjustment to the airline’s schedule includes an additional weekly flight between Melbourne and Queenstown as well the suspension of its Auckland – Cairns operations from 8 November this year until the high-season picks up again from 31 March next year.

Hoping to tap into the domestic market, the carrier also announced the arrival of new daily Wellington – Queenstown flights from the 22 December this year as well two additional weekly flights on its existing Auckland to Queenstown operations.

Jetstar Australia and NZ chief executive David Hall said picking up more domestic and international links was a demonstration of the carrier’s commitment to the NZ market.

“As we keep expanding our network in New Zealand, and in fact right across the Asia Pacific region, we see our low fares enable people to travel more often,” Mr Hall noted.
