The Tiger bounces back

Tiger Airways has announced extra daily return services on two popular routes (Melbourne – Brisbane and Melbourne – Gold Coast) as the airline continues to resume domestic services in Australia gradually.

The additional daily flights on both popular routes are on sale now for travel from late September through to March 2012 and mean that the airline will soon be flying two daily return services between Melbourne and Gold Coast (extra daily services commence from 23 September 2011) and three daily return services between Melbourne and Brisbane (extra daily services commence from 22 September 2011).

Currently the airline is flying one daily return service between Melbourne and Gold Coast and two daily return services between Melbourne and Brisbane.

Tiger Airways’ Vanessa Regan, says “the airline is implementing its flight program as planned, focusing on flying the popular core routes which deliver operational excellence, enabling the airline to provide safe, affordable and reliable air travel.

“We are keen to reinstate flights to a number of other popular destinations around Australia, which we will announce in due course,” she says.

The airline’s recent track record takes it to the top of the major domestic airlines for on time performance and completion, which in turn is having a positive knock on effect with strong forward bookings.

Since the airline returned to Australian skies, Tiger Airways has achieved over 96% on time performance, 100% completion (no flight cancellations) and enjoyed strong demand for its flights with an average load factor of close to 80% for all available seats.

“Australians already love our low fares, testament to this is the 7 million passengers we have carried in just over three years,” said Ms Regan.

“Throughout July, we took the opportunity to review every aspect of our operation, listening to our customers and refining the product to better meet their needs.”
