A List Directory Gains Award
Leading Australian event directory and website A List Guide won the hotly contested Best Product or Service Award at the third annual Australian Event Awards last week in Sydney.
The Best Product or Service Award was open to all businesses across Australia who supply the corporate and private events, festivals and weddings industries.
A List Guide was recognised for its innovative initiatives; it was the first to include venues alongside event suppliers and event-related activities in one resource. It was also the first directory to limit the amount of advertisers based on a set of criteria for entry.
The idea for A List Guide came from a team of event managers tired of spending hours searching the internet, printing off information and trying to keep a record of who-was-who.
The team needed a ‘little black book’ of favourite venues and suppliers for all their event management requirements. Founders, Amy Merriman and James McGregor knew that many event managers wanted the same thing and hence the ultimate tool for Australian event professionals was born.
Receiving the award on behalf of the whole A List Guide team, Ms Merriman and Mr McGregor said: “It has been an amazing journey; it began with having a simple idea of how we could be doing things better in event management. After 10 years and many editions later, we feel very grateful to be receiving this accolade that recognises the decision we made to put our idea into the market.”
