Kirra Beach upgrade almost done

Kirra Beach Hotel’s $2 million refurbishment is almost complete.

The hotel’s operations manager Michael Trevitt said the revamp includes a new bar, an improved gaming area, restaurant, kids room, alfresco dining area, bottleshop, fine wine cellar and a major facelift to the hotel’s exterior.

“Throughout its history, the Kirra Beach Hotel has stood as an enduring symbol of the Gold Coast’s rich surfing history,” he said. “We believe the work we are undertaking will only further enhance the Kirra precinct, which has undergone a significant transformation in recent years.”

Built in 1956, the Kirra Beach Hotel has been trading for more than 50 years and was purchased late last year by Brisbane-based Ridge Properties.

“The intention is to create a family-friendly destination for locals and visitors to relax and enjoy modern Australian cuisine in a relaxed beachside setting,” Mr Trevitt said. “The location of the Kirra Beach Hotel is insurmountable. It offers a near northerly view across the ocean to Surfers Paradise.
