Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa’s Cathy and Terry Maloney have qualified reports about putting the property on the market.

“Some of you may be aware through hear-say that Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa is on the open market so we want you to know exactly what is happening and hopefully you, or someone you know, would be keen to be involved in the exciting future of this amazing Australian iconic business.

“Our passion for the preservation of the world’s oldest rainforest and the world’s oldest continual culture will never diminish,” the Maloneys said in a statement.

“A number of additional indigenous enterprises have been incubated over several years and are now ready to launch. They can dove-tail into the core business of Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa or can stand alone, independent of the lodge and diversified from tourism. For example Daintree Essentials – the native, natural and organic skin care range – inspired by the rainforest and Kuku Yalanji knowledge. These enterprises can provide employment for many Aboriginal people, helping them be empowered and released from welfare dependence – this is what we call true reconciliation.

“Investment can be for part or full acquisition. We see the investment as a socially responsible positive investment with healthy ROI – culturally, anthropologically and environmentally significant.
