Backpacker conference hots up in Melbourne

The Melbourne Adventure and Backpacker Industry Conference will take place on 17 February, the day before the Adventure Travel and Backpackers Expo.

The program will not only provide delegates with practical learning they can apply to their own businesses, but also valuable networking opportunities during the tea/coffee/lunch breaks on the day and at the networking drinks afterwards.

The conference will be opened by Russell Northe, Victorian parliamentary secretary for small business. There will also be an opportunity for delegates to discuss and debate the current challenges and opportunities facing the backpacking industry.

Speakers include Campbell Shepherd, CEO Base, Jesse Desjardins, social media and advocacy manager, Tourism Australia, Meg Allen-Armistead, general manager, Nomads Affiliate Network and Kristy Carstairs, account manager Oceania, Indonesia & Philippines, Hostelworld.com.

ABiC Melbourne will take place at the centrally located Rendezvous Hotel on Flinders Street from 11am until 5pm on 17 February followed by networking drinks.
