NSW boost to hospitality training
TAFE NSW New England Institute’s new $8 million hospitality complex at the Armidale campus has been launched.
Armidale campus tourism and hospitality head teacher Helen Steward said local chefs and restaurant and motel managers were impressed by the hospitality teaching facilities.
The region now has two comprehensive hospitality training facilities, with the other based at the Tamworth campus.
Previously, all chef apprentices from the northern part of the New England region had to travel to Tamworth for lessons.
The new hospitality complex includes a north-facing dining deck, rainwater reuse, wireless technology for computers and ordering systems.
