Big worker development for Pilbara

Decmil Group has won a $28 million contract to build accommodation for mining company Fortescue in the Pilbara in Western Australia.

Decmil will construct a 200 person camp, including accommodation rooms and associated facilities, as the site south of Port Hedland as part of Fortescue’s T155 Rail Expansion program. Construction will begin in the coming months, with a completion date scheduled for the second quarter of the year.

This project is the latest in a series for Fortescue, which included the construction of an airstrip and staff accommodation at Christmas Creek.

The rail camp involves the construction of 200 single person accommodation rooms (with an option for an additional 314 rooms), a wet mess, gym and recreational facilities, and administration facilities.
